Boundary Bay"Spray!" 2016

August 30th, 2016 was an excellent day in Waterton Lakes National Park, so Marilee, Marilou and I went hiking to Boundary Bay.

A pensive thought as I take in Upper Waterton Lake on our way to the Boundary, or US border. Love where I live and it's even better when there is sunshine and no wind!

We are at Bertha Bay on our way to Boundary Bay! The twins are posing nicely for the camera! Oh we have fun!

Umm Interesting indeed!

Marilee at the Canadian point of Boundary Bay!
No guns into Canada guys!

I have so much fun watching the twins do their selfie thing! Just added the color type photo for fun, don't you feel like you are in an 80's music video?

Pay attention to the item in Marilee's right hand! It has something to do with the Spray part of "Boundary Bay Spray!" She looks like the kind of gal that wouldn't hurt a flea, huh? :)

At Boundary Bay! Canada to the left or north of the picture! USA to the right or South! Notice the Canadian in Canada and the Americans in America!

There's that 80's video again!

On the dock enjoying the view!

Eating our lunch! We work hard for our lunch!

Relaxing!

Really Relaxing! Ahh this is the life!

Pftttt!"Ah what was that? My eyes! My throat!"

"I'm sorry! It was an accident!"

"Am I going to be ok? Bear Spray ahhh!"

"You want a sucker? I'll carry your backpack!"

"I'll pay for ice cream! Here have a sucker!"

"Oh that really hurts, my eyes, my throat!"
"No I don't want a sucker!"
"You are buying ice cream!"

Friends again, heading home!
You know we went to Big Scoop!

Marilee had the "safe" off her Bear Spray and forgot. She was putting things away in her backpack and pushed the bear spray into its little "puka" or pouch in her pack, and pffft she hit the spray button! My thoughts were "that's so not like Marilee, why'd she do that?" I was up wind from the spray, Marilou was right in the way, and Marilee got some on her shirt and arms! She paid for that all the way home, her arms were stinging!
Always an adventure with the twins, and always a great time to be in the mountains in the summer time! Love where I live!

Leavitt Ladies Ride 2016

The Leavitt Ladies ride again, this time it is to Wishbone Landing in Waterton Lakes National Park.

From left to right we have: Treena Merrill, Kaylynn Nunn, Karen Bevans, Marilee Cahoon, Neysa Pierson, Dixie Bevans, and Shauna Smith who is taking the picture.

We all really liked this ride, spectacular views as you can see! Easy trail to ride, no steep cliffs etc.. and just the right length.

Hey there Kaylynn!

Hey there Marilee! (Nice horse, that Shasta!)

We had a great day to ride, Thursday 25 August 2016.
A bit overcast and threat of rain, but we didn't get that until the end of the ride!

Posing again for the camera! Need to record these things!

Here we are lunching at Wishbone Landing! This was such a fun discovery for me. This is across from the Prince of Wales Hotel on Middle Waterton Lake.

Perfect weather, we have our coats off and the sun feels great!

Vimy Mountain in the background! I love our annual rides.  I love the ladies I ride with, they are all the best of the best, and I love where I live that provides such great opportunities. Summer needs to stay all year!

August Swimming Lessons 2016

This year we had Nathan's 3 children, Thomas, Hunter and JJ, along with Tashina's Markus, and James at the Ranch for swimming lesson's in Cardston for the first 2 weeks of August! Oh man did that fill up the house and kept us all busy, busy! Kassie and Tiffany came with the kids to help out and Kelly(Grandma) came. It kept us all very busy, but I think the kids had a great time! We sure tried to make it fun for them.

Here were are at Bertha Falls!
They are happier than they look! Honest!
Left to right, James, Thomas, Hunter, JJ and Markus in the front!

At the playground before swimming lessons! See Tiffy at the side of the slide! She is fun for the kids.

See, Tiffany is at the top of the climby thingy! Fun Fun!

JJ in Waterton! Oh what a sweet sweet girl!

These boys are so busy, no posing for pictures.
Draven, Thomas, and Hunter!

Hunter at Bertha Falls!
He was fun, sweet and full of tall tales!

Thomas at the creek! He is a busy one with no fear!

Markus at Waterton enjoying the cool water! (Brrrr!)

James and Thomas taking a break from hauling branches!

Just a collage of an Instagram post!
Loved having the kids around so that we can get to know them!

They are busy as little ones can be and I hope they come again soon!

Wishbone Trail, Waterton August 13, 2016

Kelly, Kassie, Tiffany and I got to do a day ride in Waterton! We decided to ride the Wishbone trail that can take you up top of Vimy Mountain and/or take you over to Crypt Lake (if you want to ride that far and hard). We chose to ride over to what is called Wishbone landing, it is basically across the lake from the Prince of Wales hotel on Middle Waterton Lake. I thought it was a great discovery for me and a fun ride!

Here we are lunching by the lake, Tiffany, Kelly (making herself at home in between the girls) and Kassie! Vimy Mountain in the background.

Tiffany with a view of the cliffs that were cool! We saw lots of kayakers here and we were even treated to a couple of boys jumping off those cliffs. Guessing that the cliffs are about 40ft tall. One of the boys did a fancy forward flip before hitting the water and the other just found the courage to actually jump! I was way to slow getting the camera ready to catch the jumpers.

My view of the ride, Tiffany leading on Yuno, Kassie in the middle riding Shasta and Kelly riding Zee, I rode Willow and loved the ride! It is so awesome to be in the mountains on horse back with the sun shining and the wind non-existant!

The horses picked up a gear or two on the way back to the trailer! Oh how I love where I live!
Love these ladies even more!

If there is a picture, then it happened, right?!

Kauai, Hawaii

This year I got to take a trip to Hawaii with my sister Kelly and her friend Cynthia. They were there 5 days earlier than me. I left Calgary on Sunday 14 Feb 2016. We came home on 24 Feb 2016.

Blue sky and the ocean! What more can one ask for? Love it!

This is a tree canopy that we got to drive through as we were going from one side of the island to the other. It's so green and lush!

Kelly and I at Limahuli Garden! I'll let the picture speak for itself!

It rained off and on the whole trip! So we were very glad we had rain jackets. We got to do most of the tour with no rain, but we did have to find shelter for a bit!

This is the hut we took refuge in.
I just love how green and lush everything is and I love being warm even if it is overcast and raining.

Limahuli Garden, Kauai

Some of you may recognize this mountain from a famous old movie. Hint: "I'm going to wash that man right out of my hair!"

That's right South Pacific!

Kauai has been and I'm sure will continue to be a location for movies.

The Beach! Only thing missing is Mr Sun!

Chickens, Chickens everywhere Chickens!

Here we are on our way up to the top of Waimea Canyon, often referred to as the Grand Canyon of the Pacific. Obviously very windy! And yes, I'm working on keeping my clothes where they should be!  Steep cliffs that are about 3000 ft deep! It was very beautiful and rugged!

We hiked up to a little waterfall, so little I didn't bother to take a picture of it! The hike was very rugged, over boulders, stumps and very muddy as it was raining off and on the whole hike. It was rather slippery too with the red mud. Nothing like hiking in the Rockies.

The clouds lifted just enough for us to take a picture of the ocean from the top of the Canyon! It is very pretty, just imagine if one could have had a clear day from this vantage! Cool!

Just another shot of the rugged Canyon! A neat place to hike!

I took surfing lessons and Yup Yup! I got UP!

This is a Hindu Monastery and it is in the best location ever! All I wanted to do was head down to that waterfall and play in the water! The temple they are building is in the background off to the right. They didn't let us to up to the actual site, but this was a great place to be. They have interesting stories of how this came to be and what they are doing with it now!

At the beach trying to settle in for a nice day of tanning, but the rain kept coming and leaving, but it was warm and sure beats snow!

Kelly and Cynthia all settled in at the beach!

Our Helicopter! That is a great thing to do! It was chilly without the doors on though!

I love this picture of Kelly in the Helicopter!

Na Pali Coast this is so so cool!
Another shot of the Na Pali Coast from the Helicopter.

We rented bikes and rode along the coast from Kappa, Kauai!
This was fun!

Shaved Ice! I finally had Hawaii's famous Shaved Ice!

Going to Hawaii in the Winter is a good thing to do and I hope to do it again very soon!
