WOW Hikers decided to go to Iceland for an adventure! Here we are waiting in Toronto to fly out to Iceland. Oh am I excited!

Keflavik International Airport which is about an hour bus ride from the Capital Reykjavik. Iceland "the land of Fire and Ice."
We wandered the streets on Sunday 31 July.

This is the Hallgrimskirkja Church, a famous landmark in Reykjavik. It is a Luthern Church (Church of Iceland) and the tower is 244 ft tall. The architect was inspired by Iceland's most common geological feature, the ubiquitous basalt columns which are a result of the many volcanoes and glaciers. It took 41 yrs to build the church: construction started in 1945 and ended in 1986. Fun fact: the spire was originally intended to be less tall, but the leaders of the Church of Iceland wanted to outshine the cathedral of the Catholic Church in Iceland.
