Sunset over the Sea of Galilee
This is a view of the Sea of Galilee from the City of Tiberias, where we stayed for a few nights exploring the area around Galilee. It was beautiful. So much fun to imagine Christ walking and preaching amoung these hills.
This is the Mount of Beatitudes, this could easily have been what the people were looking at while listening to Christ teach about the Beatitudes. or Sermon on the Mount. Such a beautiful scene, fun to think about all those things from the Bible and be in the actual area they took place. Humbling in so many ways.
A day time view of the Sea of Galilee, it's fun to imagine Christ watching the apostles on the water with their boats catching fish. There are so many different things to think about when visiting these places. Oh I'm so lucky to have had the chance to visit these holy places.
I've lots more to share and post, but I thought I would give you a taste of what we were able to see and do in the Holy Land. I heard someone say "I ran today where Jesus walked!" and I have to say that is what it felt like at times. There were so many tourists speaking all kinds of different languages at every spot we were at. So sometimes it was rushed and chaotic, but I worked at taking the time to imagine and ponder, it was GREAT!!
I have to admit I really enjoyed the heat of the area too, it was nice to be warm and in sandles everyday all day!! Just a small portion of what I was able to see and learn in Israel. Amazing, Amazing, Amazing!!!!
Oh my, Dixie, those are great pictures, thanks for sharing, and have fun in Hawaii, Cannot wait till you get home!
